Instructions to the further continuation of the teaching process in the academic year 2020/2021

In view of the current safety and preventive measures taken in connection with the spread of COVID-19 infection, we would like to inform you about the conditions under which further continuation of the teaching process will take place:

  1. From November 30th until December 18th 2020, teaching in the winter semester will continue in the distance (on-line) form, with the exception of block teaching process of the 6th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in Slovak language and subsequently the 6th year of General Veterinary Medicine (including post BSc.) study programme in English language from January 4th 2021.
  2. All students of the 5th year of General Veterinary Medicine (including post BSc.) study programme in Slovak and English languages and Food Hygiene study programme are allowed to perform clinical practice at the UVMP clinics in agreement with the guarantor of the relevant practice in small groups (max. 5 students at a time).
  3. Students, preferably of the final years of study, are allowed to perform the practical part of their theses at individual workplaces according to the consideration and instructions of the tutor.
  4. Subject guarantors are obliged to publish exam dates and from December 21st 2020 to carry out the exams in compliance with the valid Study Guidelines.
  5. Exams will be carried out exclusively in a distance form, via MOODLE system (instructions will be sent separately).
  6. Due to the lack of practical teaching in subjects Clinical Diagnostics (4th year of Food Hygiene study programme) and Propedeutics (4th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in English language), teaching of missing practical classes with personal attendance in small groups (max. 5 students at a time) in these subjects is ordered in the period from January 4th to January 15th 2021. Teaching will take place according to a timetable, which will be prepared by the subject guarantor and which will be sent to the students well in advance.
  7. Students who will attend the teaching of Clinical Diagnostics (4th year of Food Hygiene study programme) and Propedeutics (4th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in English language) are allowed to:
    • have an extension of the deadline for achievement of credits from all subjects of the winter semester until February 28th 2021,
    • continue with teaching process in the spring semester without restriction according to the valid schedule of the academic year,
    • perform exams also during the teaching of the spring semester, with the guarantor of the subject being obliged to announce min. one exam date during the months of February to April 2021.
  8. Dates of the state examinations scheduled for January and February 2021 remain unchanged. Form of the state examinations will be published later.
  9. Accommodation in student dormitories is permitted for students starting the personal attendance of the teaching or clinical practice. Students can be accommodated a maximum of one day before the start of the teaching or practice, with the exception of foreign students.
  10. Personal attendance of the teaching, clinical practice or accommodation in student dormitories is conditional upon providing a negative result of an antigen or PCR test not older than 5 days before the start of the given teaching or practice.
  11. Subject guarantors (or persons authorized by the guarantor) and security staff of the student dormitories are entitled to request to see a certificate of negative result of RT-PCR test or a certificate issued by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic with a negative antigen test result for COVID-19 not older than 5 days.
  12. Teaching in the summer semester will begin according to the valid schedule of the academic year.
  13. External form of teaching process will be carried out according to the valid schedule of the academic year. Form of the teaching will be published later.

University reserves the right to make changes in the published instructions according to the current developments of the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 and measures of the Chief Hygienist of the Slovak Republic and the Government of the Slovak Republic.
