In connection with the beginning of the new academic year 2021/2022, the teaching process as well as the basic operating conditions and anti-epidemic measures of UVMP in Košice will respect the OTP protocol (vaccination – testing – overcoming the disease).
I. Vaccinated persons (O):
a) A person at least 14 days after administration of the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine with a double-dose scheme,
b) A person at least 21 days after administration of the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine with a single-dose scheme,
c) A person at least 14 days after administration of the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, if the first dose was given within 180 days of overcoming COVID-19.
II. Tested persons (T):
A person who is required to demonstrate a negative result of a COVID-19 test, not older than 72 hours (from sample collection) in case of RT-PCR or LAMP test, or not older than 48 hours (from sample collection) in case of antigen test.
III. Persons after overcoming COVID-19 (P):
Persons who overcame COVID-19 within last 180 days.
After expiry of the 180-day period, such person is subject to the obligation to present a negative result of a COVID-19 test in accordance with the currently valid regulations.
To monitor the development of the epidemic and to take anti-epidemic measures depending on the intensity of COVID-19 spread in our environment, all activities will be managed by COVID SEMAPHORE of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice.
The only safe, fast and sustainable way out of the COVID-19 pandemic is to be vaccinated and achieve the highest possible vaccination rates of UVMP staff and students. Vaccination is also the most practical, convenient and easiest way for everyone to comply with the OTP protocol rules.
Conditions of the teaching process and operation at UVMP in Košice in the academic year 2021/2022
- Upon entering all UVMP facilities, everyone is obliged to disinfect their hands and to observe the current measures concerning covering of the upper respiratory tract according to the Decree of the Public Health Authority of the SR.
- A person with symptoms of a respiratory tract infection that may correspond with symptoms of COVID-19 (fever above 37.5 °C, cough, difficulty breathing, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, malaise, loss of smell and flavours and others).
- If a student or university employee develops symptoms of COVID-19 during classes or during the working day, he/she immediately leaves the university with covered upper respiratory tract also while outdoors, and contacts his/her general practitioner.
- Students and employees immediately inform the university by e-mail or telephone through the Department of Safety and Crisis Management – Eva Ráczová, Ing. (students and employees), to eva.raczova@uvlf.sk, and in a copy the Study Office (students), by e-mail to zas@uvlf.sk, in case of suspicion of COVID-19 and/or confirmation of COVID-19 disease.
- Before the start of the teaching process, all students, including PhD students, provide information about vaccination or overcoming the disease (COVID pass) and fill in an electronic questionnaire about their health and travelling abroad for the last 14 days.
- Study Office will prepare lists of students according to individual years and study programmes with an indication of which students are fully vaccinated and which have overcome COVID-19 disease including specification of 180 days period since overcoming.
- Students who are not fully vaccinated or have not overcome COVID-19 provide a certificate of negative PCR or Ag test according to the OTP protocol in accordance with the current COVID automaton and Public Health Authority of the SR regulations at the beginning of each class to the teacher during attendance verification.
- Employees who are not fully vaccinated or have not overcome COVID-19 provide a certificate of negative PCR or Ag test according to the OTP protocol in accordance with the current COVID automaton and Public Health Authority of the SR regulations at the beginning of the working day to their senior employee. Senior employees provide the certificate at the Department of Safety and Crisis Management.
- Compliance with current anti-epidemic regulations and measures of the Public Health Authority of the SR as well as UVMP instructions applies to all workplaces of the university, including its special facilities and transport to these workplaces within the teaching process. In case that internships and practices take place at premises of UVMP contractual partners (e.g. slaughterhouse, etc.), it is necessary to follow any other instructions valid at the workplaces of these partners.
- At mass events held at UVMP, participants follow the OTP protocol.
- Students limit mutual encounters with students of others study years, study programmes and other universities.
Organization of the teaching process
- Teaching in the academic year 2021/2022 will take place by combining in person attendance and distance forms of learning. All educational activities, the nature of which allows it, are carried out remotely or using a combined method. Information on the method of teaching is published in the current timetables, teaching schedule and at the UVMP website.
- Teachers and students follow current anti-epidemic measures during the teaching process, among others covering of upper respiratory tract, hand disinfection and keeping distances of 2 m.
- It is forbidden to transfer students between individual groups, unannounced changes in the timetables and classrooms.
- It is obligatory to keep lists of students (name, surname, year of study, study group number, information on vaccination and overcoming COVID-19, e-mail address and telephone contact) and current timetables, which will be available at the Study Office.
- It is obligatory to keep accurate attendance lists for each class/lesson in case of an epidemiological inquiry.
- Students who are suspected of having COVID-19 are not sanctioned for absence from class if they provide to the subject guarantor a record of medical examination by a general practitioner or result from a mobile sampling unit (MOM).
