Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the EU Council
Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the EU Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Natural Persons with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of Such Data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as ’GDPR’) and subsequently by the National Council of the SR on 29 November 2017 adopted Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data and on Amendments to Certain Acts (hereinafter referred to as ’Act ’) emphasize the right of the individual as the person concerned to protect his/her personal data and provide a clear framework for the operator to follow when processing the personal data of the person concerned.

Time of retention of personal data
The UVMP archives the personal data of the persons concerned within the time defined by the relevant legislation and the Registry Code of the UVMP.
Rights of the person concerned
The person concerned has the opportunity to become digestedly familiar with his / her fundamental rights from the Data protection of EU citizens overview published on the site of Office for Personal Data Protection.
He/she has the right to withdraw consent to the processing of personal data relating to him/her at any time. Revocation of consent does not affect the legality of the processing of personal data based on consent prior to its recall; prior to granting consent, the person concerned must be informed of this fact. The person concerned may withdraw the consent in the same way as he/she granted consent (§ 14, par. 3 of the Act).
According to the Act, the person concerned has:
- The right to access his/her personal data (§ 21).
- The right to rectify personal data (§22).
- The right to erasure personal data (§23).
- The right to restrict the processing of personal data (§24).
- The right to portability of personal data (§26).
- The right to object to the processing of personal data (§ 27).
- Rights related to automated decision making, including profiling (§28).
These rights may be enforced by the person concerned by email or in writing to the responsible person supervising the processing of personal data at the University.
The responsible person may also be informed of the release of personal data or other significant facts concerning the processing of personal data.
