From 23 October 2020, theoretical and practical teaching in all study programs and forms of study will take place exclusively in a distance form. The regulation is valid until at least November 27. By order, Rector Jana Mojžišová changed the conditions of the pedagogical process and determined further rules of operation.
Study activities that require the physical presence of students (work in laboratories and clinics) are interrupted. They are being postponed when the epidemiological situation improves. “As a matter of priority, we had to solve state examinations in the sixth year of the study program of general veterinary medicine in Slovak and English. We have not changed their date, they will take place from October 26 to 29. All exams will be a distance form. We try to create such conditions that they are as objective as possible and students have to prove real knowledge, “said UVMP Rector Jana Mojžišová. The study department of the university will inform each student about the conditions of the state exams. University staff will work to keep direct personal contact to the minimum necessary.
Only a few hundred foreign students are currently accommodated in UVLF Dormitories. According to the information of the director Jaroslav Hochmann, most of them are interested in traveling to their home countries in the coming days. Strict hygienic and organizational measures continue to apply in boarding schools.
As of October 23, 2020, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice registers 17 students and four employees with a positive test for COVID-19.
